The opening ceremony took place on November 10th, 2025, at the CSN mini hall, where participants, invited guests, and partners convened.
Rev. Fr. Boniface Idoko, the National Youth Animator and Convener of the Youth Media Power Bootcamp 2025, shared the inspiring story behind the initiative. He explained that it was born out of concern for young people drifting into unproductive vices, and a conviction that with proper training and digital empowerment, they can build meaningful careers and contribute positively to the society.
He emphasized that technology, creativity, and innovation drive today’s world, and the Church believes in the potential of its youth. He encouraged participants to be job creators, innovators, and digital missionaries, shaping a better future.
He also appealed to government agencies, NGOs, and development partners to support youth-centered initiatives, providing opportunities and empowerment for young people to flourish.
The Secretary General, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Rev. Fr. Banjo Michael urged participants to seize the opportunity, leveraging digital skills for evangelism and promoting positive change. He emphasized using digital platforms to spread the Gospel.
In attendance, we also had the Deputy Secretary General Rev. Fr. Augustine Okochi, the Executive Director of Caritals Foundation of Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Peter Audu Babangida, Communications Director Rev. Fr. Michael Umoh, Director of Mission and Dialogue Rev. Fr. Lawrence among other Priests.
