Good morning beloved child of God.
“To tell of the works of the Lord is to give praise” (Cassiodorus). Give thanks to the Lord, for his great love is without end.
Psalm 136:1-9
O give thanks to the Lord for he is good,
for his love endures for ever.
Give thanks to the God of gods
for his love endures for ever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his love endures for ever;
who alone has wrought marvellous works,
for his love endures for ever;
whose wisdom it was made the skies,
for his love endures for ever;
who fixed the earth firmly on the seas,
for his love endures for ever.
It was he who made the great lights,
for his love endures for ever;
the sun to rule in the day,
for his love endures for ever;
the moon and stars in the night,
for his love endures for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
TODAY’S WORD: This generation is an evil generation; it seeks a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the men of Nineveh, so will the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the South will arise at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineveh will arise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. (Lk 11:29ff)
REFLECTION: Something greater than Jonah… something greater than Solomon… The evil generation rejects repentance… the evil generation rejects wisdom. Are you rejecting repentance and wisdom? Are you part of the evil generation? Jesus is the source of wisdom and perfects our repentance. Jesus is greater than Solomon, Jesus is greater than Jonah. Jesus brings something greater than Solomon and Jona. Apply wisdom and repent today because of the Kingdom of God is close at hand.
Shalom!!!
DAILY PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me a heart that loves what is good and in accord with your will and fill me with your wisdom that I my understand your ways. Give me the grace and the courage to reject whatever is evil and contrary to your will.” Amen.
The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Think positive. It is well with you. God is in control. Have a blessed and fulfilling day.
