Good morning beloved child of God.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for what is right: they shall be satisfied” (Mt 5:6). The Lord cares for the weak and oppressed.

Psalm 11
In the Lord I have taken my refuge.
How can you say to my soul:
‘Fly like a bird to its mountain.
See the wicked bracing their bow;
they are fixing their arrows on the string
to shoot upright men in the dark.
Foundations once destroyed, what can the just do?’
The Lord is in his holy temple,
the Lord, whose throne is in heaven.
His eyes look down on the world;
his gaze tests mortal men.
The Lord tests the just and the wicked;
the lover of violence he hates.
He sends fire and brimstone on the wicked;
he sends a scorching wind as their lot.
The Lord is just and loves justice;
the upright shall see his face.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
TODAY’S WORD: And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to himself, What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?' And he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, `Fool! This night your soul is required of you; and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.” (Lk 12:16ff)
REFLECTION: Today’s parable is a reaction to the dispute amongst 2 brothers. One of the brothers came to Jesus to seek his intervention in their matter. And the parable is Jesus’ intervention! We struggle, work, and fight over treasures we lay up for ourselves. We cheat, steal, and deceive even brothers for treasures that would be left behind. The big question today is: What are you saying to your soul today?
Shalom!
DAILY PRAYER: Lord Jesus, free my heart from all possessiveness and from coveting what belongs to another. May I desire you alone as the one true treasure worth possessing above all else. Help me to make good use of the material blessings you give me that I may use them generously for your glory and for the good of others.” Amen.
The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Think positive. It is well with you. God is in control. Have a blessed and fulfilling day.
