Daily Prayer – 6th October, 2026

Good morning beloved child of God.
The Lord guards his people “Peace to the Israel of God” (Gal 6:16).
The Lord surrounds his people.

Psalm 125

Those who put their trust in the Lord
are like Mount Sion, that cannot be shaken,
that stands for ever.

Jerusalem! The mountains surround her,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and for ever.

For the sceptre of the wicked shall not rest
over the land of the just
for fear that the hands of the just
should turn to evil.

Do good, Lord, to those who are good,
to the upright of heart;
but the crooked and those who do evil,
drive them away!
On Israel, peace!

Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

TODAY’S WORD: Now as they went on their way, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Lk 10:38ff)

REFLECTION: From the gospel passage, one thing comes to mind – Prioritizing!
Yes, we have a lot of things to do; a lot of things to achieve, but not all things would help us achieve our life goals. Not all things are for the greater good. Jesus tells us clearly today that we have to prioritize in every area of our lives. Once we identify the most important things to achieve, then we follow through immediately and focus on them. Other things would follow suit.
Sometimes we are confused about what should come first. Remember Jesus’ greatest advice: Seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and every other thing shall be added to you. We have learnt to put the cart before the horse and then complain that our lives are not moving forward.
The question for you today is this: what do you seek first? What do you focus on first? What do you prioritize?
Shalom!

DAILY PRAYER: Lord Jesus, to be in your presence is life and joy for me. Free me from needless concerns and preoccupations that I may give you my undivided love and attention.” Amen.

The Lord of hosts is with us. The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Think positive. It is well with you. God is in control. Have a blessed and fulfilling day.
