DAY III: LET GOD LEAD

Times are really hard and the coming days will/ might be difficult. Our journey/ situation(s) might not be as rosy/ easy as we would have envisaged; but just let God lead for he is the only one that lighten your journey/ situation(s). You might think your situation is bad but have you heard others story?

I have a friend with a serious health challenge (breast cancer) for over two years now who only discovered that she was 4 months pregnant after her chemo treatment in Lagos and wasn’t even aware of it. “What a hell” you might say or was she “nuts”? (Honestly, I shared same sentiment).

She cried though but the doctor an Indian insisted that the pregnancy be left alone that if the chemo treatment which under normal circumstances should have washed it away could not, he himself will not. That from his diagnoses the child was even doing very well. For him he sees the hands of God in it and cannot explain how/why. He asked her to trust God in this situation for God has his reasons – his healing might come through this means.

He asked that the child should be fed with the affected breast when delivered, that under normal circumstances the child will reject it out rightly; but if the child does accepts it then there is hope for God is at work. The child will be a year old next month and doing very well. Did the child reject the offer, ‘no!’ From the very first day the child accepted it and the doctor said it’s a good sign for God is at work, but advised that she should go on with her medications.

Honestly, she doesn’t even look like one with such a challenge. She looks stronger and finer than you can ever imagine. The secret being that she had allowed God into her boat and asked him to lead her in this situation. Would you in yours?

Friend, Jesus did not promise a painless or stress free journey but that he will lighten our burden/ journey (Mt. 11:30); and He says his grace will be sufficient for you (2Cor. 12:9).

Sing now the song: “It’s not an easy road…” and pray with Deut. 3, with Ps. 34 & 121.

SHEPHERD ME O LORD BEYOND MY STRENGTH.
