DAY XII: COME LET’S REASON

Read Isaiah 1:18
The sad and tragic events of less than 24hrs has sent my spirit reflecting and asking? Have I harken to this invitation of God?

Just yesterday seven young men lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident on their way to Enugu from Ikot Ekpene. They were major seminarians of the Vincentian Order. One of them, Joachim happens to be the younger brother of one of my diocesan priests classmate, Fr. Edwin Erhimeyoma.

Strangely enough these were his two last posts on his Facebook account posted on Sunday, just a day before the Lord called him: “What is d chief end of humanity…..? 2 Glorify God n 2 enjoy Him 4reva.” “Worrying never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it robs today of its Joy. Worry Less and be present in d moment u are in.”
Hmmm!
How strange but insightful.

God wants you my friend to glorify and enjoy him forever that is why he is inviting you to reason with him, return to your duty post and trust him even in your helpless and hopeless situations. This is GRACE.

Today is a day of grace for you and me, why not use it wisely. Harken to his call now and let the words of Joachim and the sad events of yesterday speak to you. Why not say a short prayer now for the repose their souls, for their religious family and their biological families now. And pray too for yourself.

Sing now: “God of mercy and compassion look with pity upon me…” Pray too with Deut. 12, Ps. 16,31,51&121.

SHEPHERD ME O LORD BEYOND MY STRENGTH.
