Read Jonah 4
“… I beseech you now, O Lord, to take my life, for it is better for me to die than to live” (4:1-3).
This is it friend, it is finished – I mean the forty days fast journey. Congratulations!!!. How did you fair? Don’t forget the proceeds in your bread and water bowl as well as your fasting sacrifice. Envelope them and take them to your priest/ pastor and ask for his blessings for this your sacrifice. You are equally free to send the fruits of these lenten sacrifices (that is, your bread and water bowl as well as your fasting sacrifice) to any village /rural priest/pastor, equally ask for your blessings. More importantly, don’t forget to go for thanksgiving tomorrow for God has already changed your story.

Yes, God has changed the story and it is to your favour, just mark my words. He did it for the people of Nineveh, he heard their cry for mercy and forgave them. He did it too for David when he was not considered fit to be king and left in the fields to pasture their father’s flock (cf. 1 Sam. 1-13). You too will be favoured this year like David and it will manifest when you least expect it. Habakkuk 2:3 says it will surely come but if it lingers, wait for it.
See, God has already prepared a table for you and I firmly believe you will dine on that table in the presence of people both the good, bad, evil and the ugly. It took a real while for David to ascend the throne, he waited on the Lord and called him his shepherd, and indeed he ascended the throne and reign over Israel for forty years (cf. 1 Kn. 2:11).
What about Joseph with all his gift of interpretation of dreams? Was he not forgotten for about thirteen years by the king’s cup bearer who promised to remember him when he return to his duty post? (Gen. 40) But God changed the story through the dreams of Pharoah (Gen. 41:1-46).
Friend, the greatest, the best and the ultimate game and story changer will favour you this year as he did for David, Joseph, Abraham and Sarah. Isaac and Rebecca, Zachariah and Elizabeth, just mention them. Just wait patiently for him with hope and a courageous heart (Ps. 27:14) and you will see what marvels He will work for you.
In fact, God will so manifest his glory in you to the extent that your accusers, tormentors or those who mock you will beg to die like Jonah. Why not now magnify him with any song of your choice, thanking him for the victory you have received through the sufferings, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ his Son. Happy Easter friend. Missing you already until next year by his grace. Feel free to share your experiences with me for this period, you never can tell it will be a wonderful consolation an encouragement to a beautiful soul.
SHEPHERD ME O LORD BEYOND MY STRENGTH.
