“The word of God is alive and active….” Heb. 4:12
“Father! Am tired. God must answer me this year, in short I can’t bear it anymore. I can’t.” – the cry of one of my traveling companions in last year’s journey.
Are you feeling burnt out too? It’s like am not making progress just moving in one sport? It’s expected. You are right on course. Just keep trusting and remain focus on the wounded body of Jesus.
Abraham experienced something much more excruciating than you can ever imagine. In spite of the exciting prospects of God’s constant promises, being asked to walk blameless before God with nothing concretely happening, he remained focus and faithful. Only after 25years of sacrificial obedient patience something happened. Yes, 25 full and whole years. You can imagine! Wait a minute did I hear you say “it’s not and would never be my portion?”
History has it too that Saint Monica the mother of Saint Augustine prayed for 30years for his conversion. She prayed and waited patiently, and her request was granted her. “Still not my portion I guess.” Yes, I totally agree with you but whose?
Can’t you tarry awhile with your God? Hope you remember that God is the best in this “fixing of glory’s business?” Lk. 1:37 says with him nothing is impossible. Habakkuk 2:3 confirms saying the vision must surely come to pass but if it delays, wait. Why not keep your hopes alive in him (Ps. 27:14) for he renews the strength of all who hope in him (cf. Is. 40:31).
There is something I want you to understand, God has a wonderful plan for you no doubt about it (cf. Jer. 29:11). Activation lies in sacrificial patience, obedience, trust and right focus. It MUST surely come to pass. WAIT.
Hebrews 4:12 says God’s word is alive and active, for (as Is. 55:10-11 says) it must accomplishes its purpose, it succeeds utterly in its mission. If you need to wait for it, wait with courage and hope, for its time of fulfillment is nigh.
In Mt. 6:33, Jesus says we should seek ye first God’s kingdom and righteousness then all other things will be added. If we keep faith with this covenant we will see the rich fruits from this word of prophecy.
God can not and does not lie. Hold on to his word. Just keep “PUSHing” (Pray Until Something Happens).
My most sweet, agonizing and adorable Saviour, my glory lies in your wounded and broken body exalted on Calvary. Give me the necessary graces no matter what, to keep on pressing on for greater heights by focusing daily on you my wounded healer. Amen.
Pray today again with the song “what a friend we have in Jesus”; Ps. 16&121 and with St. Pio’s “Stay with me, Lord.” Study the 17th chapter of the book of the prophet Jeremiah.
SHEPHERD ME O LORD, BEYOND MY STRENGTH.
