Read Mt. 14:13-21.
Today my friend Jesus wants you to get a little more involved no matter what, just don’t send them away (v.16) with either a stern face or harsh word. Show a little kindness or mercy. There is no need to hold back dear for I can perceive some form of reluctance on your part. Maybe you might have been hurt or betrayed before and there is that seeming temptation of not wanting to get involved again; or put differently there is the fear of being attacked for your good/ generosity, for the time we are in is an evil one. But come to think of it has there ever been a time that has not been evil? Should we continue to allow evil to prevail?
In spite of all these God wants you to show a little more concern and that is why the Lord Jesus says be merciful like the father (cf. Lk. 6:36) who in spite of how evil we are still gives us good things (cf. Mt. 7:11; Lk. 11:13; Jn. 3:16).
For God everything counts, it matters a great deal to Him – no matter how small or insignificant a task might be. Remember, like that little boy (Jn. 6:9) just put your little in the hands of Jesus.
Get involved today as like yesterday – feed somebody or maybe two. Be kind and merciful with your words for today. Sing meditatively “take my hands and use them as your own…”. Study Deut. 20.
SHEPHERD ME O LORD BEYOND MY STRENGTH.
