The Monthly Devotional (TMD)
2nd Week
Day 13
Ask God to make a way for you to achieve your dreams
Introduction:
Joseph dreamt of being noble and exalted but did not achieve this status by a calculated plan. Surprisingly, God prepared him all the way for the place of his dreams. He learnt the skills of administration and how to lead as a slave and prisoner. The same skills he used as the Prime Minister of Egypt. He learnt to be God fearing and truthful even when family and admirers sought otherwise from him. He learnt to be humble with the gift God gave him and he excelled all the way as the Lord found favour with him.
Dreams can come through, if not we would not be endowed with the ability to dream. We must be convinced about our dream and even more convinced of God’s ability to perfect them. Many loose the path to achieving their dreams because they rely solely on their ability, and that is pride. Many believe it is by perfecting their skill, but the race is for the Lord. What the Lord asks of us today is to be diligent and faithful. We should look unto him regardless of where the storm of life blows us to; trust God and we would rest steadily unto the desired destination, more glorious than we could have imagined.
Bible passages:
- Genesis 37:2-10;
- Genesis 41:40-46;
- Genesis 42:6
- Ecclesiastes 9:10-12
- Psalm 18:30-36
Reflection:
What you dream about is a reality to be achieved if your faith is able to carry you to the end despites the odds. Diligence alone would not take you to the top, you must be humble in order to excel! Any dream achieved through arrogance and slut is vain and brings untold pain at the end.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your mighty hand that leads me. I present my dreams and my future before you today because only you can perfect all that concerns me, in the name of Jesus I pray, amen!
