The Monthly Devotional (TMD)
3rd Week
Day 18
Ask God to help you to be faithful and perfect according to his will.
Introduction:
No doubt, God is faithful! He is faithfulness personified. He is not a man that he should lie and his promises endures forever. God calls us to be faithful and perfect. He calls us to a higher standard. God does not compromise so why should we.
If you wish to learn any art, it is best to learn from the master of that art. God can help you to be faithful and perfect. Our faithfulness and perfection must be hinged on the will of God.
Some claim that perfection is for the Lord alone, if perfection is for the Lord why does Jesus command us to be perfect like the Heavenly Father is perfect…? Now this is the truth; we are created in the image and likeness of God thus we were made for perfection, period! Watch your Words, Actions, Thoughts, Companions and Habits. Ensure these are guided by God’s will; since God’s will is perfect.
One way out is to be humble especially when you see yourself walking along God’s path; be humbler still as God elevates you. Do not let pride steal your work and walk towards perfection.
One more thing, do not murmur or complain about any ugly situation you find yourself. Murmuring and complaints show lack of faith. The Israelites murmured in the desert and paid dearly for it. If you find yourself in an ugly situation, take it to God in prayer and ask him to guide you through the situation.
We must be purified for heaven, thus we experience various forms of comforts and discomfort as well as elevations and setbacks. Gold is tested by fire and silver take time to be refined – A Christian is tempted and tested for faithfulness and perfection.
