TMD – Day 22

The Monthly Devotional (TMD)

4th Week

Day 22

Worship God for who he is… and for what he is in your life

Introduction:

Let no one, no living thing, no created thing, nor raised-up stone, take your place in the worship of God.

Give him praise, give him honour, and give him adoration. Your worship today should make up for all the times in your life you have failed to worship him.

Heaven is his throne and earth his foot stool. He is the Alpha and Omega. He directs the movement of the cosmos. He knows the source of the rivers and seas; he established the foundations of the earth. He is God, glorious and almighty.

He pours the breath of life into man and takes it when he wills. Creation springs from him, his awesomeness is brilliantly displayed in creation and in the mystery that abounds.

How can any mind conceive that there is no God; that the world came to be by some explanation that erodes the mind of pure wisdom. Can a man be a god unto himself? And then pass away?

I worship you today Lord with the whole of my being! Please take me as I am!

Bible Passage:

  • Matthew 3:9
  • Isaiah 66:1-2
  • Revelation 22:13
  • Psalm: 24:1-2
  • Job 38:1-38; 42:1-6

Reflection:

Worshiping God is pivotal to the duty of every created thing. We should never get tired of worshipping God. If you do not worship God you are drawn into a muddled state where you worship what is not God. For every creature consciously or unconsciously seeks to worship, adore or devote itself to something – a concept, a thing, itself or God. Do you know that you end up becoming like that which you worship?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I worship you today and always because I love you and want to be with you forever, amen!
