The Monthly Devotional (TMD)
4th Week
Day 23
Thank God for his ever-abiding presence
Introduction:
He promised to cover us with his wings. Are you aware of God’s presence all the time?
Elisha begged God to open the eyes of his servant so that the servant could see the host of angels present. If you do not feel his presence then your eyes have been closed.
In times of joy, God is there; in times of trials and temptation he is the first to show up and never leaves you.
However, we are too eager to leave the presence of God – to places of immorality, injustice, deceit, mockery and evil, which are not pleasing to God; and it is difficult to experience God if you choose to be a part of these negative environments.
Above all God lives in us, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and it pleases God to bestow his Glory on us by abiding in us.
Bible Passage:
- 2 Kings 6:16-17
- Matthew 4:11
- John 15:5
- Psalm 17:7-8; 46:1-3
- Deuteronomy 32:10
Reflection:
God is omnipresent and has instructed us to abide in him like the vine and the branches. Many times we cut off from Jesus and then complain. The bible says that we are the apple of God’s eyes and are very precious to God. When you think that God is far from you, guess who moved? Come back to God today.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your gracious love for me and all that concerns me, help me to abide in your presence for all eternity, amen!
