Day 26
Ask God to go before you and take you by the hand
Introduction:
Here I am Lord, I will go, if you would lead me! What is the future? The future is some distant time and place we are heading into. Not many have been there, and maybe none! Every wise person seeks direction to chart an unknown course. So also that journey into the future. 
Do you know that God revealed to Abraham what would happen to his fourth generation in Egypt? Is there any other way I can explain to you that God knows the future? Maybe, by saying that; God owns the future! But we must work and walk into it.
God’s presence gives courage and guarantees an expected end. The Israelites experienced God’s companionship when they journeyed away from Egypt. The “Pillar of Cloud by Day” and the “Pillar of Fire by Night” is still a wonder till tomorrow.
There are many instances when God showed his presence and willingness to accompany his people. Check the story of Gideon, one of the many biblical references. You can also read up on the stories of the Ark of the Covenant: and how the Israelites were encouraged to go to war because they carried the Ark along.
What strikes me most is that God shows great interest in the affairs of man, especially those that love him.

Reflection:
Is there a better assurance in life’s journey than knowing that God holds you by the hand? In Life’s journey we need God to guide and guard us. “Oh the future lies before me and I know not where I’d be; wherever my part be leading; saviour keep my heart with thee.”(CHB266)
Prayer:
Oh Lord! I put my future into your hands; I depend on you to lead me into my future; please take me by the hand; please do not leave me until I have made the expected end: heaven by you right hand, Amen!
