Good day beloved in Christ! Christ holds for us a promise we anticipate. And with faith and hope we hold on. Christians and believers of the gospel seek an array of different things, ranging from the mundane to the spiritual; From the abstract to the physical, from the seen to the unseen, and the imaginable to the unimaginable. We dare to believe, and our hope keeps us alive.
Whether our expectations from Jesus are mundane or celestial, it doesn’t matter! We have the firm believe that God has the power to do everything; to give to us more than we can ever imagine or hope for. However, there is a caveat, God desires for us according to his will. And this is the part which eludes us as Christians and believers.
This eludes us because we either do not know God’s will for us; or we try to bend God’s will to our own will. Worse still, our will is often selfish and does not meet God’s expected end for us or for others. If only we remember that the actualization of God’s will is arguably the first proclamation of surrender in the Lord’s prayer:
“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallow be thy name, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven!…”
God is God, God is King and God is Father; not just in Heaven but on Earth and throughout the universe. It is His will that perfects all things. In the scriptures, there is always a revelation of God’s will concerning our situation. It is only fitting that we align to God’s will or desire God’s will in order to perfect that which concerns us. If we do not desire or seek God’s will; that is, if we seek our own will then God would never be enough for us.
It is at this instance then that we seek other sources of strength, power, solutions or results to our situation. It is at this point we relegate God to the background and seek instantaneous solutions because God is seemingly absent or slow in answering us. We seek for part-time or alternate solutions, because God is not enough.
The questions we often hear are; Does God solve problems? Yes He does! Can God answer us in times of need? Yes, He can! Why does God delay in answering our problems? In truth, only God knows but He answers according to His will and His time is the best. In His time, God is perfectly glorified in all things concerning a situation.
GOD is MORE THAN ENOUGH if we choose to do His will! His will might look difficult but at the end it is the ultimate will and brings about the ultimate good; which is ultimately enough! God is more than enough if we are patient, attentive and submissive. Jesus reassures us in His words, “What does it profit a man who gains the whole world and suffers the loss of his own soul.” That which we think we are in a haste to achieve amounts to nothing at the end of the day. God is more than enough if we surrender to God’s will. At the end of the day, God’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven, why stress, why delay, why compete. Shalom!
